सार

Agroforestry reduces vulnerability, risk, and sensitivity, as well as enhances a production system's ability to adjust to climate change through adaptive capacity. Agroforestry has the ability to anticipate, absorb, adjust, or recover from the impacts of an event in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring the preservation, restoration, or improvement of its essential infrastructure and functions. Agroforestry mitigates climate change by storing atmospheric carbon dioxide in soil and plant parts. Agroforestry enhances soil fertility and biodiversity by providing a protective soil cover, leading to increased yields and diverse food production. Agroforestry improves the livelihoods of local communities. Thus, agroforestry helps farmers and agricultural systems adapt to climate change and become more resilient to climate risks. For the Bundelkhand region, shade-loving crops such as chickpea, lentil, and mustard, as well as ginger, taro, and turmeric, can be successfully grown under climate-resilient agroforestry.
